Our week with Caroline

After Caroline was born I rushed back home to pick up my own little man so that I could come back and spend the whole week in San Antonio. My momma was staying for the whole week as well, and I couldn’t wait to get back and help Haley with miss Caroline. We had such an amazing week together laughing, talking, and helping welcome Caroline to the world. Wyatt was so confused over Caroline. He did not understand what was making all that noise every time she would cry. Of course we had to take some pictures of the tow of them together, and I about died they turned out so cute! We had so much fun all week it was hard to leave!

Caroline

Sweet Caroline! I have been waiting on this little angel to make her big debut and I am so so excited to get to say that Miss Caroline Elliot Cowey has arrived! My amazing, wonderful, beautiful cousin and best friend Haley gave birth to this little lady first thing in the morning on April 13, 2013. Apart from giving birth to my own child, it was one of the most magical days of my entire life. I got to be in the room with Haley and Brandon as Caroline took her first breath, and she has had me wrapped around her little finger ever since.

I can’t wait to be the best aunt in the whole world, but I know I have super big shoes to fill! I had a very special bond with my Aunt Sherry, Haley’s mom. She was my other mom, and was always there to listen to me when I need to talk to someone other than my own mother. She gave the best and funniest advice around and I miss her so much that the ache is often painful at time. She left us almost three years ago, but her spirit and love for us is always here. I can only pray that I can be as good of an aunt to Caroline as Sherry was to me. I cannot wait until Haley and I play kid swap so I can spend special one of one time with this little lady. I hope to teach her to love wild flowers the way her grandmother did, and to never apologize for being yourself. I hope that when she’s super mad at her momma that she will threaten to run away to me, like I so often did. More than anything I cant wait to be there as she grows up, and to always be in her corner cheering her on!

Waiting on Caroline

This weekend we hosted a baby shower for Haley in San Antonio, and it was truly the perfect weekend. It was so fun to get to spoil Haley and Baby Caroline. Haley has some of the most amazing friends in her life, and it was so wonderful for me to get to see all the love and support she has around her. I love being in San Antonio! I just wish it wasn’t 3 hours away!

 The shower was SO much fun! The weather was perfect, and the turn out was amazing! 

We also got to spend some time at the Hyatt Hill Country earlier in the weekend! We had such a blast dancing and eating good food! Wyatt is sure spoiled by all of these ladies! 

Easter

Easter has always been one of my very very favorite holidays. Growing up, we celebrated at the ranch every year. My dad and uncles would stay up late to hit our easter eggs and be so proud of their hiding spots. I have the best memories of dying easter eggs and making bunny cakes with Haley and Patrick. I want Wyatt to have those same memories. My mom and I headed out to the ranch on Good Friday to put flowers on my great grandparents graves and to take picture of Wyatt with my old easter basket and eggs in the front yard of the ranch. 

 On Sunday we went to our church then headed out to Kevin's parents to celebrate with the Saxe family! It was such a perfect day! 

 Kevin decided not to be in family easter photos lol and wyatt wasnt having it either! 

 Thanks Mimi for the AWESOME Easter basket!! I am sure we will be getting lots and lots of use out of this swim suit and towel!
