4 Months

Happy happy 4 months little man! I honestly do not know where time is going! I always swore to myself I wouldn't be one of those moms that got emotional as their child got older, but would see each new stage as fun and exciting. Well here I am a ball of emotions that my little man is no longer a newborn! Although I miss the hours of cuddling, hearing my child giggle and seeing the smile that spreads across his face when he sees me is honestly the most beautiful things I have ever experienced.

Wyatt has still been a good sleeper! He's gotten this nap thing down, and is sleeping through the night about every other day. During the day he put himself on a great little schedule were he is happy and awake for about an hour and 1/2 after each feeding, then takes an hour long nap. It's so nice to feel like I have a grip on his day!  At night, we put him down about 8:30pm and he wakes up between 7 and 7:30am. He is finally liking being in his crib, and I am finally able to sleep and relax with out him next to me!

We had his 4 month check up and here are his stats:

Weight: 14lbs 13oz (36%)

Height: 26 1/2 in (94%)

Head Circ: 16 1/2in (59%)

Tall and lanky! No real surprise there, but I am a little surprised he is only in the 36% of weight. He seems so much chunkier to me!

Dr. T also told us that we can start solids with him! To be honest, this TOTALLY freaks me out! I am not quit ready for this yet, so I may wait a bit to do this. He is so happy and doing so well, I think I am going to hold it off for a few weeks! I know I can't breastfeed him forever, but I just have to wait a little longer on this whole food thing!

Update...

My sweet sweet little man, why oh why do you hate your crib and nursery so? I promise I spent so much time decorating it just right. I hoped that it would be perfect for you, but obviously I got something very wrong! Our last few weeks have been a challenge. You went from sleeping 8 hours straight, to 4 hours if I was lucky! You just don't like being in their all by yourself! One day you will be thankful you have your own room I promise!

While our experiment in moving Wyatt to his room from the bassinet in our room started off rocky, it is getting better. I have tried everything from sleeping on the floor in his room with him, to putting the bassinet in the crib. I bought the same fan we use in our bedroom to put in the nursery, hoping the sound would be comforting. I even experimented with closing the vent in his room thinking maybe air was blowing on him! Nothing worked... He just needed time to get to know this new space.

Slowly but surely he is adjusting. Three weeks in and we are almost back to his normal sleeping habits pre move. I am finally not staring at the monitor all night panicking that he is going to wake up again, and he is staying asleep! Win all the way around! Even though these past few weeks have been a little tough, I wouldn't have traded having Wyatt in the bassinet in our room for anything. A few weeks of bad sleep were worth the three months of getting to have him so close!

New Years

Like always time is absolutely flying by! After our wild and crazy travelin Christmas, Kevin and I decided we just hadn't had enough of this traveling thing yet. We packed ourselves and the little man up and head south to Port Aransas for a few days of fun with some of my very favorite people. We met Haley and Brandon, my dad and Carolann, and Chris at Uncle Herb's house and spent a few days lounging and watching football. Uncle Bob and Aunt Elaine were even in town so we got to show Wyatt off to a few more family members who were excited to meet our him!  The weather was a little crummy, but that didn't stop us from having a blast. New Years was has always been a fun event around my family and this year didn't disappoint! We set off fire works and drank champagne while telling funny stories...my absolute favorite kind of night!

Wyatt slept through most of the festivities, but he definitely got plenty of lovin in during our little trip!

I guess he wasn't ready to put his bottle down! Couldn't resist sharing this funny little picture!
