12 Months

It is truly hard for me to even write this. Seeing 12 months written up there makes me get a little bit of a lump in my throat! How in the world can my sweet little boy be one! I know I have said this way too often, but time literally just flew by. I blinked and you went from my tiny newborn to my little boy. Oh what a joy you have been. I cannot express how much love and light you have brought into our lives. Your smile and curious spirit brighten my everyday, and I find a whole new love for life watching it through your little eyes. You have the funniest little personality and a goofy sense of humor that just make my heart melt. You love to point at anything and everything and you talk to everything you see. You love your blankie and insist on taking it everywhere. Sleeping is still going wonderfully, which is a huge blessing! You are a pretty finicky eater, some days you eat everything in sight, others you will not touch food, but I try not to stress about that too often. Walking is still a hit or miss task. Some days you are all about taking steps and others you down right refuse. You like to do things on your own time, so I am sure when you decide you are ready you will walk and never look back. You are a smart little guy, and can already show me where your eyes, teeth, ears and nose are. You also can get into just about anything. You can start the washing machine all by yourself, and you know how to take the cover off the air vent in the hallway. What fun! Buddy this first year with you has been the best year of my life. I don’t remember what life was like before you, and I can’t wait for all the exciting things to come. Always know you are our light and are loved beyond measure!
You woke up super happy and ready to play on your birthday! You rolled and laughed and laughed in our bed! I love love love when you are in these silly playful moods!

We cooked you your favorite pancakes for breakfast! In true Wyatt form, you are COVERED  in bruises! You are all boy and play hard! I never think you fall as hard as you do until I see the bruise the next day because you NEVER get super upset or cry when you fall!

First Steps

Well I know I go on and on about how much Wyatt loves his Caroline, but this weekend he took it to a whole new level! He started WALKING just to get to her! I mean at least 8 steps at a time walking… just a few here or there. I was shocked! Of course, the minute Caroline is no longer around he has absolutely no interest in walking again. Oh child of mine you are too much!
This is right after he finally got to her so he could give her a kiss!!

SURPRISE!

To our complete and utter surprise we are expecting baby number two in March!! Wyatt will officially become a big brother at a whopping 18 months old. I know, so old right! Although nervous, we could not be more excited about growing our little family. I know Wyatt is going to be the BEST big brother in the whole world, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us.
This was the last thing I was expecting when I took the test! I had one left over from when we got pregnant with Wyatt so I thought why not take one. There is no way I am pregnant but I am feeling off so this will let me rest easy...Welp looks like I was wrong!
Kevin was so so sweet and excited! He sent me flowers the next day!
Yep this little nugget is going to be a big brother!!!! I feel beyond blessed to get to be a the mommy to TWO precious little ones. My heart is so so full!

11 months

You have fallen in love this month child…with cleaning supplies. Oh how you love mommy’s broom and mop! As a matter of fact, dusters, sponges, vacuum cleaners, and rags are pretty great as well! You get SO excited when Miss Scarlet (our maid) comes to clean the house because she gets all of them out at once! You literally don’t know what to do with yourself. This month, you have mastered blowing kisses, giving high fives, giving kisses, and waving. You pull up on anything and everything, and if it can be moved it turns into a push toy. Walking on your own, on the other hand, is still not so interesting to you. You have taken three steps on your own but only if you think you are holding onto something. Walking while holding mommy’s finger is so fun, but the minute my hand is gone you sit your little bottom on the ground faster than I can blink! This past month, you got your first black eye!! While in San Antonio for Caroline’s baptism you can Luka had a little run in while playing fetch. But don’t worry, it just makes you look super tough. Mommy on the other hand had to fight the tears when your eye started swelling. I don’t want to think about the fact that you are turning one in a month. There is NO way that 12 months has gone by since I first held you in my arms. In some ways I feel like I have known you my whole life. Daddy and I joke about not being about to remember what life was like before you! Time needs to seriously slow down so I have more time to savor your sweet hugs and kisses!

Pool days!
Wyatt't first black eye :(
This kid could play in water for hours on end.

10 Months

Oh little one how you have gown! I find myself staring at you daily amazed at how wonderful our God is to have blessed us with you. Your little personality is shining through more and more. You are so so happy and fully of energy. I have never met a little boy as curious as you, or as observant. You literally learn something new every day. You love to wave at us and blow kisses. You know the sound that a puppy makes and love to make the little “woof woof” noise back at me. You have recently started hiding from me in any small space you can fit. Boy do you think it is funny when I find you! Opening cabinets is a HUGE hit, actually opening anything is fun to you. You just can’t wait to see what is behind the door! Your smile is infectious and I find myself staring at you and laughing for hours a day. When I hug you, you pat my back and it melts my heart. Often when we are playing on the floor, you just crawl over to me and climb in my lap just to be close. I cannot begin to describe how that makes me feel. You love to give high fives and have started talking a little! You say momma and dadda, which just melts us! You love going up and down stairs and sliding feet first off of any high place you are on. I have caught you trying to pull up on anything and everything, and you love push toys! You are one LOVED little boy, and I sooo lucky to be your momma. Here are a few pictures from our super fun last month:
Sitting still for his 10 month picture was just way too hard for this little busy body!
 Playing is just so exhausting!

Thats one way to get to your toys!

Steamboat and the Forth of July

Steamboat is truly like a second home to the Saxe family, and we SO look forward to our little get aways up in the mountains. The summers visits are especially fun, and for the past few years, we have been spending the Fourth of July there, which we especially enjoy!
Being the planning momma that I am, I strategically booked our flight during nap time. This would have been awesome if our flight hadn't been delayed 3 hours! So nap time was spent in the airport, which means out little busy body was up up up during our flight! All in all he was a great traveler, and we got there relatively stress free! Thanks you so much to the sweet flight attendants who let us crawl around the drink cart area!

Our little family read to enjoy the mountain and the beautiful weather!

 Our little mover.
This view truly never gets old.
Celebrating the Fourth of July! Rodeo, then fireworks on the lawn!
Date night at Cafe Diva. Wyatt man got to stay at the condo with an amazing babysitter that we found up here!
Wyatt and I on our hike up the mountain. I packed lots of snacks and some water and off we went! I had no idea what I was signing myself up for! I should have took everyone telling me how brave I was for doing this as a warning that this wasn't a leisurely stroll. It was quit the hike to say the least! I was so proud of myself for finishing, and I can honestly say I will do it again!
Wyatt exploring the plane on our way home.  It was such a great trip, and I already cant wait for our next Steamboat adventure!
